This opening hole is a straight away par 3 that plays downhill to a green located a few yards on the other side of the beautiful, but intimidating Turtle River that winds through the course. The green is quite deep and slopes from back to front, with the back elevated 8-10 feet above the surrounding rough. Missing the green left, right or long will require a delicate shot from the rough to get up and down, so hitting your tee shot anywhere on the green is critical to achieving a par or birdie.
